John F. Kennedy Memorabilia to Hit the Auction Block

DENNIS – A collection of John F. Kennedy memorabilia that is currently owned by a single person will be auctioned off in pieces Friday in Dennis.

The Eldred Auction House on Route 6A will hold the auction of items that range from Kennedy’s rocking chair, to his personal stereo system.

The sale will begin at 10 a.m. on the third day of the auction house has called the Summer Americana Auction.

Based on the range of prices listed on Eldred’s website, the items could fetch a total of $568,000 on the high end.

Among the pieces available for purchase is a collection of pens Kennedy used to sign significant pieces of legislation, including the bill creating the Cape Cod National Seashore.

Other items include the president’s tie clips, ash tray, sailboat doodles, a family picture album and the invitation he sent to Frank Sinatra for his inauguration.

Kennedy spent his summers in Hyannis Port with the rest of the Kennedy clan. He was assassinated on November 23, 1963.
