BARNSTABLE – A Quincy man was sentenced to 16 years in state prison Monday after pleading guilty to manslaughter charges in connection with the 2012 shooting death Andrew Stanley.
31-year-old David Evans entered the plea on Thursday, what was scheduled to be the first day of testimony in his trial.
The plea came after a Barnstable superior court jury found Steven Webster and Eddie Mack guilty of Stanley’s murder.
Stanley was found shot in an Otis Road Hyannis home. Stanley was found by police with his hands and feet bound with duct tape.
District Attorney Michael O’Keefe said the murder was “committed with extreme atrocity and cruelty.”
Evans was sentenced to 16 years on the charge of manslaughter and 10 years on armed assault in a dwelling, to be served concurrently.
He was also ordered to spend 5 years on probation and will be remanded to federal custody after his release from prison on an unrelated matter.
