FALMOUTH – The man charged in connection with an armed standoff in Mashpee two weeks ago returns to court today.
Patrick Perkins, 41, of East Falmouth was ordered held without bail by a judge last week following a dangerousness hearing.
Perkins is accused of barricading himself inside the Audio Video Solutions store on Route 28 with a semi-automatic assault rifle. Police say he was despondent over a separation from his wife and was threatening to harm himself.
Perkins fired a round that did not strike anybody, according to police.
Officers convinced Perkins to surrender peacefully about 7 hours after the incident began. Nobody was harmed.
Perkins faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building, intoxicated licensee carrying a firearm, disorderly conduct and threat to commit a crime. He pleaded not guilty to the charges last week.
