HYANNIS – Gas prices are down another penny in Massachusetts over the past week.
AAA Northeast reports the average price of self-serve, regular unleaded is $2.40 per gallon.
That price is 14 cents higher than the national average and ten cents lower than at the same time last year.
“While half the country saw price increases last week, states in the northeast continue to see small but steady price decreases,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs for AAA Northeast. “Gasoline supplies here are very strong and have been able to offset any rises in the price of oil or increased consumer demand.”
Prices on Cape Cod are between $2.25 and $2.69, according to GasBuddy.com.
