FALMOUTH – Multiple music acts have been announced for this year’s annual Scallop Fest in Falmouth.
The 47th edition of the Cape Cod Scallop Fest will be held September 23, 24 and 25 at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds.
The entertainment includes some newcomers along with long-time local favorites. A change to this year’s event will include a different genre of music to be featured each day.
Country artist Kristen Merlin, who is a Massachusetts native and a top 5 finalist on season 6 of “The Voice,” will headline the event with a performance on Saturday evening.
Entrain will return to the Scallop Fest on the main stage Friday night. The group has recorded 8 albums and its music mixes rock, blues, calypso, ska, jazz and funk.
Cash is King, which recreates Johnny Cash, will perform Sunday afternoon. The group performs with authentic costumes and stories from Cash’s life.
Themes include Americana music on Friday, country on Saturday and Tribute bands on Sunday.
A second stage is also being added to the new village layout and will feature solo artists who will bring the action closer to the audience.
