NANTUCKET – The enrollment and change period for Medicare Part D plans starts on Saturday, and Nantucket Cottage Hospital is offering assistance to residents who may need help reviewing their prescription plans.
The hospital’s social services department offers one-on-one meetings with Medicare recipients. Officials advise citizens to check their plans annually to make sure they are enrolled in the appropriate program.
“The process can be very complicated to complete, with a range of variables such as plans having different formulary coverage, different premiums, deductibles, co-pays or different participating pharmacies,” the hospital said in a release.
One-on-one consultation is available for island residents beginning October 17. Appointments can be made at 508-825-8196. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
The Medicare Part D enrollment and change period runs through December 7.
