NANTUCKET – Shellfishing regulations on Nantucket are set to undergo a major overhaul.
According to the Nantucket Inquirer and Mirror, the new proposal calls for residency regulations for commercial shellfishermen, as well those scuba-diving for shellfish.
The plan has been put together by a nine-member shellfish bylaw committee. It now goes before town council for review.
If the council okays the proposal, it would then be considered by selectmen.
