OSTERVILLE – Residents and visitors on Cape Cod will be taking to the water next month to raise money to restore and preserve clean water in the Town of Barnstable.
The 8th Annual Paddle for the Bays: RACE Cape Cod will be held Saturday, September 15 at the Oyster Harbors Club Beach to support the Barnstable Clean Water Coalition.
The event includes 5-mile and 10-mile adult stand up paddle board and kayak courses, a quarter mile to half mile youth course and a relay race.
The relay race will see teams of four travel the youth course with one team board.
Prizes will also be provided to the top three finishers in the individual races along with relay race prizes for best finish, best costumes and top fundraiser.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. for all the races which begin at 9 a.m.
Awards will be presented at noon and a beach party and silent auction will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
