WOODS HOLE – The research results of 19 students who spent their fall semester participating in an environmental sciences program offered by the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole held a public symposium on Friday.
It took place at the MLB’s Lillie Auditorium.
The program runs 15 weeks and immerses undergraduate students in intensive hands-on ecological science.
It approaches environmental science from an ecosystem perspective.
In addition to their research, the students take courses in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, one elective, and a science writing seminar.
The later illustrates how the results of scientific investigations can be put forth to the public.
