MARSTONS MILLS – The Town of Barnstable Department of Public Works is holding a public information meeting for individuals interested in the planned improvements along Route 149 between Route 28 and Lovell’s lane.
Residents will have the opportunity to review the plan and learn about the projected timeframe for the construction.
Main Street and River Road will have portions included in this state-funded project.
The objectives of improving pedestrian and bicycle access and overall traffic safety, rehabilitating the aging infrastructure, and enhancing the streetscape, will be reached through several means. These include new or improved sidewalks and pavement, landscaping, drainage improvements and decorative street lighting.
In addition, a boardwalk will be constructed along Mill Pond. Construction is planned to start this fall and last into next year. It will cease between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Available funding and other factors may affect the project.
