Sandwich Porch Fest To Be Held on Sunday

SANDWICH – For the second year in a row, the main streets of Sandwich Village will come alive with the sound of local musicians performing on the porches of downtown homes and businesses on Sunday from 1-5 p.m.

New this year to Sandwich Porch Fest 2017 is “Last Porch” which runs from 5-6 p.m., where all the musicians gather at Horizons on the Bay Restaurant for one last hour of playing together for the public.

The talent, organized by Kim Moberg, founder of Sandwich Porch Fest, features an eclectic group of over two dozen musicians covering a range of genres from blues, pop and jazz to oldies, folk, country and Irish jigs and reels.

Several talented local students will also be featured, including a group of 5th and 9th grade violinists, and a budding singer/songwriter.

Historic homes hosting the musicians include 14 School Street, 6 School Street, and 164 Main Street.

Downtown businesses and organizations offering their porches include The Weather Store, The Brown Jug, Next Door Burger Bar, Home for the Holidays, Sandwich Public Library, St. John’s Episcopal Church and Beth’s Bakery & Café.

The Sandwich Arts Alliance suggests that participants bring a folding chair so that they can sit back and enjoy the music, the people and the fun.

Maps will be available online at sandwichartsalliance.org and at all porches starting with Beth’s Bakery & Café.
