OFF THE COAST OF ST. LUCIA – The T.S. Kennedy is churning toward St. Thomas as the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Sea Term continues.
This will mark the third stop as part of the nearly two month voyage. The Kennedy has made ports-of-call in Colombia and Barbados the last two weekends.
The vessel was tracked west of St. Lucia on Tuesday and appears to be on track to spend the weekend in St. Thomas.
The 600 cadets onboard are handling all of the vessel’s operations. During the trip cadets will rotate through class and laboratory training and perform maintenance and emergency drills.
The final port-of-call before the Kennedy returns to Buzzards Bay February 25 is Tampa, Florida.
As part of the trip, cadets also dropped off humanitarian supplies in Haiti.
