Seal and Seabird Cruise to Cuttyhunk

HYANNIS – Journey across Buzzards Bay with the Buzzards Bay Coalition and the Cuttyhunk Ferry Company.

Aboard the M/V Cuttyhunk, participants will cruise to Gull Island where they will be able to observe gray, harbor and harp seals that have ventured south from the cold northern waters to winter in Buzzards Bay.
Buzzards Bay is an important stopover location for overwintering marine wildlife, most notably seals of the Northeast region.

Once at Gull Island, participants will approach the seals at a safe distance and float quietly while photographing, observing and even sketching the interesting marine mammals.

Next, participants will go ashore at beautiful and unique Cuttyhunk Island, where they can walk up Lookout Hill and enjoy a phenomenal 360-degree view of Block Island Sound, Buzzards Bay, Vineyard Sound, Martha’s Vineyard and the Elizabeth Islands.

Clam Chowder, drinks, hot dogs and chips will be served on board.
After lunch and strolling, participants will then re-board the M/V Cuttyhunk for another brief stop at the seals and return across Buzzards Bay.
Those who are taking part in the event are asked to dress warmly and bring extra layers.

Space is limited aboard the boat and registration is required.

The cost is $30 for Coalition adult members, $20 for child members, $45 for adult non-members and $25 for child non-members.
