BOURNE – The driver of the gas tanker that rolled over and spilled approximately 5,000 gallons onto the Bourne Rotary last Tuesday night will face charges.

According to the state police, a complaint application was lodged on Friday in Falmouth District Court seeking to charge Thomas Medeiros, 47, or Westport, with three violations.

Medeiros will face charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating at a speed greater than reasonable and proper and failure to stay within marked lanes.

A court date has not been scheduled.

Partial lane closures remain as crews continue environmental cleanup of the land in and around the rotary.
