Take a Holiday Shopping Break For Board Game Night in West Barnstable

WEST BARNSTABLE – Officials with the Whelden Memorial Library in West Barnstable are inviting members of the public to take part in a family board game night next week.

Before the busy holidays, enjoy a little fun and get into a competitive team spirit with friends, family, and neighbors.

Participants are invited to bring their own board game, or use games that the library provides.

The free event is scheduled for next Wednesday December 12, at 5:30 p.m. Registration is appreciated, but drop-ins are always welcome! Call 508-362-2262 to sign up.

The library has been serving the community for more than a century now.

In the 1880s, Martha Lee Whelden, a West Barnstable school teacher, was renowned for encouraging good reading by her students. Her friend, Mrs. George Linder, was so impressed that she donated two red bookcases and books to the grammar school.
