Target in Hyannis Holds Sneak Peek Event Ahead of Sunday’s Grand Opening

HYANNIS – Cape Cod residents got a glimpse of the new Target store in Hyannis on Tuesday night at Cape Cod Mall.

The store held a preview ahead of their grand opening on Sunday and also had a ribbon cutting to mark the occasion.

Musical entertainment was provided and local dignitaries attended the event to welcome the new Target into the community.

The 80,000 square-foot store features a CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks and Order Pickup, with a separate entrance that connects to the Cape Cod Mall.

The store has an assortment of kids’ products, electronics, home décor, seasonal items and a grocery section.

Store Director Daron Holloway said the store has a big purpose in the community.

“You don’t have to go over the bridge anymore to go to Target, it’s right here on Cape Cod, it’s right here in Hyannis for you,” said Holloway. “We want to provide everything that you want in your store and on your shelves.”

Cape Cod’s newest department store has hired around 150 team members.

Holloway said that the small-format store caters to those who want to have a quick trip shopping experience.

“We’re going to be able to offer things like affordable infant care and affordable infant merchandise and things like that and different areas and commodities that really couldn’t be done at different locations,” said Holloway.

The grand opening is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Sunday and the first 1,000 people in the store will receive a free re-usable bag.

There will also be in-store celebrations throughout the day.
