Three Bays Preservation To Hold Annual Cape Coastal Conference in December

Three BaysHYANNIS – Three Bays Preservation is holding its 4th annual Cape Coastal Conference on December 6 and 7 at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis.

The theme of the conference is “Our Coastal Future: Taking Action for a Prosperous and Healthy Cape Cod”.

At this year’s conference the organization will take a step back in time and use lessons from history and the region’s development to re-examine what living in a coastal area like Cape Cod means.

“We are going to be sponsoring a number of workshops and sessions where folks can come and learn about the water quality issues here on Cape Cod and what can be done to solve these problems in a fair and equitable way,” said Three Bays Executive Director Lindsey Counsel.

Topic highlights for the conference include fisheries, water resources, climate change and sea level rise and marine technology and innovation.

“It’s an important time for folks to come in and learn about these things and be a part of these solutions,” said Counsel.

Last year’s conference drew close to 300 participants and sparked new collaborations among local decision-makers, scientists, coastal managers and other professionals.

The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, Cape Cod Commission, Association to Preserve Cape Cod and the Massachusetts DEP are among the partners of the conference.
