HYANNIS – The first of two weekend storms is delivering several inches of snow to Cape Cod.
A Winter Weather Advisory was in effect for Barnstable County and Southeastern Massachusetts through Saturday night.
The National Weather Service was calling for 2 to 6 inches of snow through last Saturday, with the higher amounts on the Upper Cape.
The storm was expected to clear out for the first part of Sunday before the second weather system impacted the region.
Snow is in the forecast for Sunday evening on Cape Cod before changing to rain by Monday morning.
An additional 1 to 2 inches was likely before the changeover.
Below normal temperatures were expected for most of the week.
Saturday’s snowfall prompted some delays and cancellations.
There were also several minor accidents reported across Cape Cod.
