Yarmouth Police to Host Unwanted Gun, Ammunition Turn In

YARMOUTH – The Yarmouth Police Department will host an unwanted weapons and ammunition turn in next weekend.

Anyone who no longer wants the responsibility of having a firearm or ammunition in their home can contact police for the appropriate disposal of the items in accordance with state law.

Firearms must be unloaded and fully-secured when brought to the facility. Anyone with doubts about the safety of a firearm should contact police and an officer will come to your home and remove and transport the weapon to the station.

The event is September 28 from 8 a.m. to noon.

The department will also be giving out free gun locks.
