Yarmouth Says Goodbye to Retiring Town Administrator

KA_Yarmouth Town Hall_Erik Tolley_Board of Selectman_07_120815YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Selectmen said goodbye to the town’s administrator recently.

At their meeting on January 12, selectmen thanked and congratulated William Hinchey who retired from the position last week.

Hinchey served as the Town Administrator in Yarmouth for five years.

“You’ve done a great job and it’s sad to see you go,” said Selectman Tracy Post. “I do wish you the best of health and happiness and hopefully you’ll buy some property in Yarmouth and increase our tax rate.”

Hinchey said he was grateful for his five years with the town.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure and privilege to serve you in this community and I thank you for that,” said Hinchey.

Assistant Town Administrator Peter Johnson-Staub took over Hinchey’s position on an interim basis on January 23.

His contract is for 90 days.

Selectmen were at an impasse last month, as they debated two candidates for the position, but after John Salamone took his name out of contention, Johnson-Staub was the only candidate left.
