Sullo, a native of Dartmouth, Mass. and a graduate of Bishop Stang High School, batted .500 with a double and triple in two games last week for Head Coach Bob Corradi’s squad, as he rapped out four hits in a 9-6 triumph over Gordon last Tuesday night in a rare collegiate night game.

Correia, a native of Dartmouth, Mass. and a graduate of Dartmouth High School, earned her first two collegiate victories while recording a 5.00 goals against average and a .667 saves percentage in a pair of wins for Head Coach Leslie Bushy’s Buccaneers, including 11 saves in an 11-6 MASCAC victory over MCLA and nine stops in an 11-4 triumph over Wheelock.

The Massachusetts Maritime baseball squad is scheduled to travel to Cranston, Rhode Island today (Tuesday, March 31) to take on Johnson & Wales in a make-up game at 3:30 p.m. EDT, while the Buccaneer women’s lacrosse team seeks its third straight victory on Thursday afternoon by heading to New London, Connecticut to battle Mitchell in a non-league match at 4:00 p.m. EDT.

In other Massachusetts Maritime Academy news,  the Buccaneers’ dinghy sailing team overcame snowy and wind-swept conditions early on to place sixth among 13 teams competing at the Sacred Heart Southern Series One Regatta over the weekend.

Freshmen Jeffrey Adam (Newport, RI) and Sergio Gratta (Sarasota, FL) comprised the Buccaneer “A” boat in the competition, while fellow freshmen Alexander Calderwood (Brewster) and Cassandra Kolstad (Madison, CT) were in the Buccaneer “B” vessel for the weekend.  Adam and Gratta posted consistent top half performances with their best finish being fourth place, while Calderwood and Kolstad finished in the mid-fleet throughout the event with their top performance coming in sixth place.

Massachusetts Maritime will host the Great Herring Pond Open over Easter weekend at the Keith Hartford Sailing Center in Bourne beginning at 9:30 am.
