OSTERVILLE – Divers from the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills and Hyannis fire departments were called to search a pond in Osterville for a missing swimmer. Shortly before 8 p.m. officials received a call that two young children reported their dad had gone under at Joshua’s Pond and not resurfaced. A Mass State Police helicopter was requested to assist in the search. About 8:35 p.m. officials found the victim and rushed him to Cape Cod Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The victim has been identified as Jorge Arias, 36, of Hyannis. The incident remains under investigation but appears to have been a tragic accident.
