It’s that time of year again — holiday shopping season. And if you are one of the brave souls who will venture out in search of bargains on Black Friday, well, we salute you. Way to pump up the economy!
But you don’t have to battle the malls to find the best deals this Black Friday. Beginning this week, towns and villages across Cape Cod are lighting up and decorating the streets to kick off the 2015 holidays. And local businesses, shop owners and artists throughout the Cape are opening their doors to offer amazing deals on everything from unique handmade gifts to everyday items.
But before you go, remember that the key to any successful Black Friday begins before you walk out the door. As with all marathons, you need to be prepared to go the distance. So bring your lists, wear comfortable shoes and dress in layers, layers and more layers. Also be sure to eat a healthy breakfast regardless of how much you ate the day before. A good breakfast will be your best source of energy to help you power through the shop-’til-you-drop endurance challenge.
So, if you’re ready to get in that holiday spirit and to save big while working off some of that Thanksgiving dinner, then its time to a take a stroll through the seaside shops and charming villages of Cape Cod to check out some of the hottest Black Friday sales around.

With 3 locations in Dennis, Chatham and Orleans, Agway is a great place to shop this Black Friday. The stores are fully stocked with seasonal merchandise including everything from holiday trees, wreaths and baskets, handmade by Agway employees. As a supporter of the Animal Rescue League, they will also be offering a new item for purchase, a white, shatter-proof, pet friendly ornament and all proceeds will go to the Animal Rescue League. The Cape Cod Art Association (CCAA) is presenting the Shop Local Holiday Gift Show, a small works exhibit and sale featuring CCAA’s juried artist members at its facility in Barnstable Village. CCAA is offering 20% off of your total purchase on Black Friday. Light refreshments will be available while you browse through original artwork. CCAA’s Gift Shop will also be open and stocked for the holidays. Browse a wide variety of handcrafted items for under $150. The exhibit will be on display from Nov. 19 – Dec. 23, 2015.
