HYANNIS – Officials with the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority have announced the return date of the Cape Flyer service, the weekend, seasonal rail service between Boston’s South Station and Hyannis.

The first 2016 train is scheduled for May 27th, the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Military members and veterans will be able to ride for free on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, May 29th.

The service is entering its fourth year and generated over $180,000 in revenue last year.  State transportation officials made the Cape Flyer permanent two years ago.

The trains make stops in Braintree, Brockton, Middleborough, Wareham, and Buzzards Bay.
