Neighbor to Appeal Nantucket Stop & Shop Approval

nantucket harborNANTUCKET – A Nantucket couple has filed an appeal with the state’s Land Court over a recent decision to allow Stop and Shop to expand their mid-island location.

According to the Inquirer and Mirror, Michael and Marcia Kane say the new store will have an adverse effect on their property value and will negatively impact traffic.

The plan has already received approval from the Planning Board and the Historic District Commission.

The couple say the new 38,000 square foot store on Sparks Avenue will lower their property values and negatively impact traffic.
