Alan Waters of Mashpee is running as a Republican for the Cape and Islands State Senate seat..

Meet Alan Waters, a Republican from the town of Mashpee who is challenging Ron Beaty in the Republican primary, to run against the incumbent, State Senator Dan Wolf, for the Cape and Islands State Senate seat.

Here is biographical information from Allen Waters’s website:

Alan Waters grew up in the Elmwood section of Providence.

His father was a Korean War vet who had served with the 8th Army Ranger Company and was the first black American to fight in combat as a Ranger. When he returned home from service, he joined the Providence Police Department and started his own woodworking shop.

Waters’ mother still lives in the family home and retired as a bookkeeper from the Wheeler School in Providence.

Waters attended Classical High School and then earned a degree in business management from the University of Rhode Island.

He has been an investment consultant since 1982 and worked for Merrill Lynch, Mass Mutual, Charles Schwab and TIAA-CREF for the past nine years.

He has lived in Mashpee since 2005 with his wife, Jocelyn and three children who attend North Falmouth Elementary School and the Sally Borden School at Friends Academy in Dartmouth. Waters formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Cape Cod Children’s Museum.
