BOSTON — Three Barnstable High wrestlers went unbeaten on the day, but the Red Raiders were tabbed with a pair of losses Saturday afternoon on the road.
Barnstable fell to Lowell, 50-26, and then to Boston College High School, 45-33. Plymouth South did not attend the meet as previously scheduled.

Top-ranked heavyweight Owen Murray maintained his unbeaten streak, while senior captain Donnie Mach and junior Casey Connor won a pair of bouts but it was not enough to take down two of the state’s top teams. Murray, the state’s top-ranked wrestler in the 285-lb.-plus division, pinned BC High’s John Tevnan and took a forfeit versus Lowell. Mach pinned BC High’s Harry Clow and won by a 12-4 decision over Lowell’s Tom Machado in the 220-lb. division. Connor pinned BC High’s Ben Smith in the 126-lb. division and won by a 9-0 decision over Lowell’s Patrick Hoey.
Barnstable’s Alex Lopes (182) and Mike Bertucci (195) also took home wins versus Lowell. Vinny Ciliberto (138), Ben Potts (145), senior captain Charlie McWilliams (152) were the other winners for Barnstable — all against BC High.
Barnstable takes on Sandwich at Sandwich High School on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 6:00 pm.
