EASTHAM – Eastham Police and the Coast Guard suspended their search for a missing 47 year old man in the water near Eastham around 7 p.m. Friday night.
Eastham Police, who initiated and led the multi-agency effort, suspended the marine aspect of the search.
The 11 hour search included a number of agencies, including the Wellfleet Harbormaster and the Wellfleet, Eastham, Orleans Fire Departments.
Search crews blanketed the Wellfleet Harbor and Billingsgate Shoal areas, but it turned up no leads.
Coast Guard assets included a 29 foot rescue boat from Station Provincetown, a 45 foot rescue boat from Station Cape Cod Canal and an HC-144 and MH-60 Jayhawk crew from Air Station Cape Cod.
Eastham Police said that they expect to continue the land search Saturday.
