EASTHAM – Eastham Police report that at approximately 7:20 PM they responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 6 by Hoffman Lane. A 2008 Mazda CX9 had collided with a utility pole causing the vehicle to roll over. The utility pole broke as a result of the collision and the pole and wires fell across the highway. The operator of the vehicle was transported to Cape Cod Hospital by the Eastham Fire Department with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. A section of Route 6 between Samoset Road and Governor Prence Road was closed for approximately 1 hour while the utility pole and wires were removed by Eversource. The Orleans and Wellfleet Police Departments provided assistance with the traffic detour. The crash is currently under investigation by the Eastham Police Department.
