YARMOUTH – At about 9:15 AM Monday morning, there was a two-vehicle crash at Buck Island Road and Camp Street in West Yarmouth. The front left tire of a Jeep Grand Cherokee was ripped off and a Nissan sedan had heavy front end damage. There were no injuries. Yarmouth Police were seen taking one driver into custody, reportedly for operating under the influence.
In a statement, Yarmouth Police report that they arrested: David Skeen, 73, of West Yarmouth. Skeen was operating a 2013 Nissan Altima at 9:23 AM when police say he failed to yield while turning and struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee. After a roadside investigation it was determined that Skeen was under the influence of alcohol. Skeen was placed under arrested and transported to the station where he was booked and later bailed. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and towed from the scene.
