ORLEANS – Orleans Fire reports that on Friday at 7:56 p.m. they were dispatched to a structure fire at a residence located on Cottage Street, Orleans. A 911 call from the resident reported smoke in the attic. When firefighters arrived, a fire was found in the attic and smoke in the main floor. Orleans firefighters, assisted by fire crews from Eastham, Brewster, and Harwich were able to bring the fire under control in about 20 minutes. The cause of the fire is possibly an electrical malfunction and is under investigation. There were no injuries.
