Four arrested in Hyannis drug raids

HYANNIS – Over the past two months, Barnstable Narcotics Detectives have conducted a series of undercover purchases of heroin and cocaine in Hyannis. Those purchases resulted in the issuance of search warrants for two Hyannis apartments located at 35 Louis Street, Apt B and 250 Sea Street, Apt 1 in Hyannis. The investigations were not related.

The Louis Street search warrant was executed during Tuesday afternoon. Detectives arrested Kenneth Debarros, 45, (left) and Robin Gomes, 52, (right) after finding approximately 65 grams of heroin (street value of along with digital scales, packaging materials and over $600 in cash. Debarros and Gomes were each charged with Trafficking Heroin (36-100) grams. Debarros has an extensive criminal record (40 arraignments) with multiple drug and firearm convictions dating back to 1986. Gomes also has an extensive criminal record (52 arraignments) dating back to 1982. Gomes has been convicted of drug law violations 8 times. Both Debarros and Gomes were arraigned in Barnstable District Court Wednesday morning and held $20,000 bail.

Detectives executed the Sea Street search warrant Wednesday afternoon. Detectives arrested Sergio Saldana, 22, of Boston (left) and Demetrius Bennett , 24,  of Dorchester (right) after finding quantities of crack cocaine, Oxycodone and Vicodin inside the apartment. Saldana and Bennett were both charged with 2 counts of Possession of Class B W/Intent to Distribute and 1 count of Possession of Class C W/Intent to Distribute (Vicodin). Bennett was additionally charged with Resisting Arrest after flushing a quantity of cocaine down the toilet and fighting with Detectives. Saldana and Bennett will be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Thursday.
