MARSTONS MILLS – A Barnstable police officer was struck by a motor vehicle Thursday while working a traffic detail in Marstons Mills.
The accident happened on Newtown Road around 11:30 a.m.
According to a statement, the officer suffered what appears to be non-life threatening injuries to the leg and face and was transported via MedFlight helicopter to a Boston area hospital. The name of the officer has not been released.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the accident scene and is cooperating with police. It currently remains under investigation by the Barnstable Police Traffic Division.
