FALMOUTH – A girl was struck by a car and seriously injured in Falmouth just before 6:30 p.m. The crash happened on East Falmouth Highway (Route 28) by Mahoney’s Garden Center. The girl reportedly suffered a head injury and was rushed to the Falmouth Airpark to meet a MedFlight helicopter for transport to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The driver stayed at the scene where Falmouth Police were investigating the crash. East Falmouth Highway was closed in the area while the scene was worked and crash reconstruction was done.
