HYANNIS – Hyannis firefighters were called to the scene of a fire at 76 Pine Avenue off South Street late Saturday afternoon. Smoke was reportedly showing from the 1 1/2 story house. The occupants were reportedly out at the time and no injuries were reported but sadly a pet dog and cat did not survive. An engine from Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills fire was called to the scene to assist. Officials called for the Red Cross to provide temporary shelter for the residents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
