YARMOUTH – A serious crash was reported in Yarmouth shortly after 1:30 PM Friday. The crash happened on Route 6 westbound past exit 8 (Union Street). According to reports a a Ford Pickup collided with a large dump truck. Firefighters had to extricate at least one person from the wreckage. A MedFlight helicopter was requested to Barnstable Municipal Airport to airlift that victim to a trauma center. Traffic on Route 6 westbound was backed up and drivers were urged to seek alternate routes. The crash is under investigation by State Police.
