YARMOUTH PORT – A car and motorcycle collided in.Yarmouth Port just before noon Saturday. The crash happened on Route 6A at Strawberry Lane. The rider was was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening. Yarmouth Police are investigating the crash.
Update from Yarmouth Police: On Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11:55 AM, Yarmouth Police and Fire Departments responded to Route 6A and Strawberry Lane in Yarmouthport for a crash involving a 2019 Cadillac and a 2013 Harley Davidson.
Investigation by Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officer Ryan Golden revealed the driver of the Cadillac failed to stop at the stop sign and pulled out in front of the eastbound Harley-Davidson.
The 51-year-old motorcyclist from Plymouth was propelled over the top of the sedan. He was treated by members of the Yarmouth Fire Department and transported to Cape Cod Hospital where is expected to fully recover.
His wife who was a passenger was uninjured.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene and traffic diverted.
The driver, Walter Mitchell, 81, of Yarmouthport was charged with two motor vehicle offenses—-Failure to Stop and Operating to Endanger—- and his license was requested to be immediately suspended.
