Continuing coverage (updated 1:30 PM): Cape Cod expected to escape the brunt of Lee

5:00 PM update: Sr far the rain has been staying just offshore of the Cape. About 500 Eversource customers lost power around 3:30 PM due to tree limbs falling on primary power lines.

7:30 PM update:

10:00 PM update: Eversource reports 850 customers without power in the West Barnstable area. Tree limbs damaged electric company equipment.

11:00 PM update: Rain has begun to overspread much of the Cape with wind gusts to 40 MPH. Earlier this evening the approaching storm made for a spectacular sunset:

8:00 AM update: Scattered power outages reported, About 600 customers in Brewster, 550 each in Dennis and Falmouth. Down wires closed a section of Route 6 by Exit 89 in Orleans. The road is now open again. Peak wind gusts: Dennis 63 Nantucket 62, Eastham 60, Provincetown 56, Hyannis 54.

11:00 AM update: Route 6 at Exit 89 in Orleans is briefly closed again while utility crews replace previous downed wire. Brewster Fire reports that a small stretch of Stony Brook Road between Satucket Road and Herring Brook Road is closed due to trees and power lines being down.About 65 customers are without power there. 325 customers remain out in Falmouth with scattered other outages across the Cape.

12:30 PM update: All warnings have been canceled. Eversource is working on about two dozen isolated outages across the Cape.
