BARNSTABLE – (CCB) District Attorney Michael O’Keefe and Chief Paul MacDonald, Barnstable Police announced Saturday that at approximately 4 a.m., a motorist alerted police to a body in the large rest area eastbound between exits 6 & 7 on Route 6. State police were on scene at 4:15 a.m. The body of a female, the apparent victim of gunshot wounds, was found deceased. The case remains under investigation by State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorneys’ Office and Barnstable Police. Crime scene services of the State Police are on scene as well as other related personnel. On Sunday, D.A. O’Keefe indentified the victim as Christine Ferreira, 28, of Hyannis. He added that the autopsy revealed Ferreira was the victim of multiple gunshot and stab wounds.
