Disturbing the peace charges headline latest Wareham arrests

WAREHAMFrom Wareham Police: On Tuesday, May 22, at about 1:45 p.m. Wareham Police were requested to respond to the area of Larch and Hemlock Streets for a report of a person on the ground. Upon arrival, Officer Christopher Smith located the male who now was on his feet and began to yell at the officer, clenching his fist and lowering his center of gravity. Officer Smith attempted to place the man in custody and a struggle ensued. Officer Smith was forced to tase the man to gain control of him and make the arrest. Ronald McCann, 58, of Wareham, is charged with assault, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and resisting arrest.

Later, at 8:45 p.m. officers responded to Tobey Hospital for a report of a disturbance in the parking lot, involving a Jeep. Officer Richard Robidoux, who was working a detail nearby, observed the Jeep leave the hospital and enter a private lot in the area. Officers Lorenzo Grosso and Nate Aronson arrived and had the two occupants exit the vehicle. The female occupant provided a false name to the officers before they determined her true identity. John Best, 39, of Fairfield, Connecticut, and Jesenia Dejesus, 40, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, were placed under arrest. Best is charged with trespassing, and disturbing the peace. Dejesus is charged with trespassing, interfering with a police officer, and disturbing the peace.

Finally, at 9:00 p.m. Officer Joseph Cardoza arrested Rashaun Lewis, 19, of West Wareham,
on Cranberry Highway. Mr. Lewis had an active outstanding warrant for his arrest.
