Drug, Disturbance, motor vehicle offenses, shoplifting highlight latest Wareham arrests

WAREHAMFrom Wareham Police:On Sunday, April 21, at about 10:30 p.m. Wareham Police responded to Jefferson Shores Road for a report of a suspicious person in the area. At the scene officers encountered a male who claimed he had been at the beach, however he had a BB gun tucked in his waist that he began to reach for. Officer Michael Phinney and Juvenile Detective Karl Baptiste quickly secured the BB gun and also located suspected crack cocaine on the male. Nathan E. Love, 35, of 23 Woodside Avenue Buzzards Bay was placed under arrest for, possession of a class “B” substance.

On Tuesday, April 23, at 1:30 p.m. detectives arrested Donna J. Derose, 48, of West Wareham at her residence on a warrant from New Bedford District Court.

Later, at about 5:30 p.m. Officer Christopher Corner, observed a vehicle on Main Street being operated by an individual that he knew did not have a driver’s license. Officer Corner attempted to stop the vehicle however the driver sped off refusing to stop. Officer Corner pursued the car until it pulled into the parking lot of the library. The operator, Darryl Franklin, 30, of Wareham was then arrested by Officer Corner. He is charged with, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for a police officer, attaching plates, operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.

On Wednesday, at 12:20 p.m. Wareham Police responded to Great Hill Mobile Home Park for a disturbance. At the scene it was determined that there had been a confrontation between workers in the park and a resident. The incident became physical and it was reported that the resident was attacked, by the two workers. Officer Zina Kelsch and Sergeant Kevin Reilly arrested two Lakeville residents, Robert Chaves, 58, charged with assault and battery on a person over 60, and Richard Chaves, 29, charged with assault and battery on a person over 60, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60.

At 5:10 p.m. officers responded to Walmart on a report of shoplifters still in the store. Officers Lorenzo Grosso and Charles Pillsbury arrested Jennifer Keaton, 47, and Autuim Keaton-Pritchard, 18, both of Wareham for shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
