BOURNE – One person is in custody after leading police on a high speed chase. The chase reportedly started in Wareham on Route 25 and may have reached speeds of 100 MPH before being called off after entering the Scenic Highway. Bourne Police spotted the vehicle which crashed rear-ended another vehicle before crashing into the woods near the entrance to Scusset Beach sometime after 4 p.m. Luckily no one was injured. The suspect driver, Melissa Malone, 45, of Worcester was taken into custody and charged with operating recklessly to endanger, failing to stop for police, marked lanes violation, following too closely and speeding. Further details were not immediately available.
