PROVINCETOWN – On October 18th 2017 at approximately 1:13 P.M. Detectives from the Provincetown and Truro Police Departments made a warrant arrest in the area of 130 Bradford Street.
This arrest stems from a criminal investigation into an altercation that took place in the area of Fisherman’s Wharf on Monday October 16th at approximately 1:30 AM that resulted in a firearm being displayed and fired. Detectives were able to, through their investigation, develop probable cause to have an arrest warrant issued by the court for a 23 year old male subject living in North Truro for several charges including unlawful possession of the firearm.
The male arrested is identified as Odane Morris, 23, of North Truro.
While Morris was being processed, Detectives from the Provincetown and Truro Police executed a search warrant on a residence on Sunset Road in Truro, where they discovered a handgun holster and a bag of ammunition. An additional search warrant was executed on a vehicle where investigators located a loaded Beretta 92F 9mm semi-automatic handgun.
Morris was additionally charged with:
-MGL 269 section 10 Unlawful Possession of a Large-Capacity Firearm
-MGL 269 section 10 Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
-MGL266 section 60 Receiving Stolen Property (Over 250).
Morris was booked at the Provincetown Police Department and held on $10,000 cash bail. He was subsequently transported to the Barnstable House of Correction where he will be arraigned at the Orleans District Court on Thursday October 19th 2017.
This case still remains under investigation by our police officers and more charges may follow.
