New Years Day polar plunges held, 5 suffer foot lacerations at Provincetown event

HARWICH – Harwich Firefighters stood by at the Polar Plunge today at Ref River Beach. The plunge was organized as a fund raiser for Cape Cod Collaberative and the Monomoy PTO.

PROVINCETOWN – A First Light Polar Bear Plunge event was held at the Johnson Street beach at noon. EMTs were called after at least five people suffered lacerations on their feet during the event. It was not immediately clear what caused the injuries. All five were treated and released.
