Update: Fishermen Found Off Chatham Identified as Newburyport man

CHATHAM – From Chatham Police: On Wednesday the Chatham Police Department responded to the Chatham Municipal Fish Pier following a report of an overturned boat. The Chatham Harbormaster’s Office and crews from U. S. Coast Guard Station Chatham responded to the area after receiving a report from a fisherman that a capsized boat was found floating in the water in the area of the North Inlet.

The body of an adult male was located in the water and transported back to the Fish Pier by the Chatham Harbormaster.

He has been identified as Louis Guarracina, 44, of Newburyport. 

Detectives from Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office responded and are investigating.

The Massachusetts Environmental Police are also assisting with the investigation of this accident. Anyone with information can contact the District Attorney’s Office at 508-362-8113.
