Road Work Planned Monday for Strawberry Hill and Old Craigville Roads

HYANNIS – The Barnstable Department of Public Works will be performing roadway improvements on Strawberry Hill Road and Old Craigville Road in Centerville, beginning on Monday, November 20,.

Improvements include the installation of new stop signs; placement of new stop signs will be on Strawberry Hill Road making the intersection a 4-way stop.

Advance warning signs will also be installed as well as temporary red flags and reflective strips on the sign posts to alert drivers to the new stop signs where there were none before.

Stop signs exist on Old Craigville Road. Those signs will be modified to alert drivers of the all-way stop. Work is expected to be completed by Wednesday November 22, 2017 weather permitting.

Vehicle access during construction operations will be limited to traffic detail by Barnstable Police.  Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid the construction work.

Operations will start promptly at 7 AM and run until 3:30 PM, after which time traffic will be opened back onto both lanes of the roadway.
