ORLEANS – Firefighters were called to a brush fire in Orleans late Friday morning. The fire was reported in the marsh off Bridge Road. About a half to 3/4 acres of beach grass were scorched by the wind driven flames. Firefighters were able to quickly get it knocked down but expected to be on scene for some time overhauling and watching for hot spots. Crews from Eastham and Brewster were assisting Orleans at the scene. Eversource was requested to the scene but the exact cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
