Snowy conditions causing multiple crashes including school bus in Bourne

CAPE COD – Light snowfall made for slippery travel as the afternoon commute got underway.

At least two separate crashes were reported along Route 6 in the Barnstable stretch before exits 5 and 6. Two others were reported along Route 28. One of those was at Route 149 where the traffic lights were reported to be not working. No serious injuries were reported.

In Bourne several young children were evaluated as a precaution after their school bus was involved in a crash on Valley Bars Road.

Officials are urging motorists to slow down and leave extra room between the vehicle in front of them.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Cape Cod until early Thursday morning. Forecasters are expecting 2 to 4 inches of snow to fall before it ends early tomorrow.
