Three face drug charges after YPD, BPD joint operation


HYANNIS
– On Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 12:30 PM, a team of Yarmouth and Barnstable Police Department Drug Enforcement Detectives executed a search warrant obtained by Yarmouth Police Drug Enforcement Unit Detective Scott Lundegren at 62 Baxter Road, Hyannis, Massachusetts.

At the residence, the occupants of the home Amir Beyah, Wahzir Beyah, and Rashad Copper and other family members were secured and Police Officers conducted a search pursuant to the search warrant.

During the search, officers recovered several knotted plastic baggies containing a white compressed powder (Cocaine) from inside the residence as well as the person of Rashad Copper along with packaging materials, digital scales, cell phones, and US currency.

The following is a partial list of the items seized during the search:

  • White powder (cocaine) in knotted baggies (approximate gross weight 13.5 grams)
  • Cash / US Currency totaling $3826.00
  • Plastic sandwich baggies
  • (2) Digital scales
  • (2) Cell phones
  • Video Surveillance System

Amir Beyah, Wahzir Beyah, and Rashad Copper were placed under arrest for C90 S32 Felony Possession to Distribute Class B (Cocaine) and C90 S40 Conspiracy to Violate the Massachusetts Drug Laws.

The arrestees were transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters where they were booked and processed.

The Beyah Brothers were subsequently released by the Bail Commissioner on Personal Recognizance with a $40 fee for each suspect.

Cooper was also released by the Bail Commissioner after paying $2,000 cash bail.

All were scheduled for arraignment in the Barnstable District Court on Friday morning.
