WELLFLEET – An alert motorist on Route 6 spotted smoke shortly after 2:30 p.m. and called 911. Firefighters arrived on Kelley Way just off the highway to discoverer several trees and some debris ablaze. According to reports the flames were fueled by tanks that may have contained oxygen or acetylene. Tanker trucks from Truro and Eastham Fire were called in to ensure an adequate water supply to knock down the flames. There were no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
